Autocross Shootout

Introducing Spectator Autocross!

The Autocross Shootout is one of the most exciting competitions at Camaro & F-Body Fest.

Instead of racing the clock, drivers go head-to-head on track at the same time, battling for position, speed, and precision. Only one driver advances.

One mistake can end a run. One clean lap can win the round.

This is autocross at full intensity.

How the Shootout Works

The Shootout takes place on a single circular autocross course designed specifically for side-by-side competition.

  • Two drivers race at the same time
  • Drivers start from opposite sides of the course
  • Both drivers run identical distances
  • The first driver to the finish line wins

There is no timing system involved. The race is decided purely by who finishes first.

The Start

Each race begins with a hand-drop start.

Both drivers stage at their starting lines. When the starter drops their hand, both competitors launch and begin the race.

With no reaction timing system in place, drivers must focus on quick launches and smooth driving to gain an advantage.

Precision Matters

Speed alone will not win the Shootout.

Drivers must keep their runs clean and controlled.

Cone Penalties

  • If a driver hits a cone, they automatically lose the race.
  • If both drivers hit a cone, the race is rerun.

A single mistake can instantly end a run, making precision just as important as speed.

Class Brackets

Drivers compete in a single-elimination bracket within their class.

Classes include:

  • C1
  • C2
  • C3
  • C4
  • Best of the Fest

Each class will battle through the bracket until a class champion is crowned.

In this format, one loss eliminates a competitor, so every run counts.

The Final Shootout

Once the class champions are determined, the competition intensifies.

The following drivers advance to the Final Shootout:

  • C1 Champion
  • C2 Champion
  • C3 Champion
  • C4 Champion
  • Best of the Fest Champion

These five drivers will face off to determine the overall Camaro & F-Body Fest Autocross Champion.

This is where the fastest drivers and most capable cars of the event go head-to-head for the ultimate bragging rights.
